Wise words festival is an award-winning festival with various workshops and activities for the families that works through poetry and storytelling, inviting people to see the world from a different perspective.
The brief was to redesign Wise Words festival’s and visual identity together with designing various items for the festival such as tickets, event brochure, volunteer t-shirts. The target audience was primarily English families with children 6+ and young adults.
Based on the history of the event and client’s requirements the logo wasn’t changed completely. The idea behind the logo of a spoken word represented by the shape of the quotes was redesigned to less sharp and aggressive shape giving friendlier expression while keeping the idea of spoken word. The primary typeface used for titles and logo with its handwritten style gives a bit of personal touch to the identity; feeling of the poetry event while still keeping certain positive vibe towards the audience. The vibrant combination of the colours gives a strong positive, energetic feeling of the festival. The pear green and the sky-blue colours represent festival’s strong connection with the outdoors and the open-air venue which is surrounded by green vegetation. The festival has also events taking place during late hours, the visuals are slightly changed using different tone by using the dark blue colour aimed at young couples or just single individuals as.
