The brief was to create a new brand, and visual identity, booklet and simple Facebook covers for Central European Conference which started in March 2017 as an annual event.
The Annual Central European Conference aims to bring together Czech and Slovak students and professionals in London, as well as any students interested in the region, and provide a platform for discussion about key topics, challenges, and opportunities that will transform Central Europe in near future.
I worked with the organising team to identify their values, define the brand tonality and making sure the final outputs meet the requirements. The combination of letters ‘c’ and ‘e’ from the name conveys an idea of connection and centre through the spiral symbol as the main element. Perhaps most prolific appearance of the shape is in Celtic symbology where the spirals were decorating a myriad of their ancient artefacts. And referring to the name of the event—from around 750 BC to 12 BC, the Celts were the most influential people in Central and Northern Europe. Colour palette represented by the two primary colours of the Czech & Slovak flags and one of European flag (Navy Blue and Red). The colour palette was carefully picked to speak for the brand and its values with primary typeface with its trendy look and sense of trust and professionality
